Zawadi wurde im Dezember 2019 vom Jugendamt zu uns gebracht. Das Jugendamt behauptet, sie sei noch minderjährig, wir vermuten aber, dass sie bereits Mitte 20 ist. Zawadi hat eine geistige Behinderung, weswegen sie uns nichts über sich und ihre Herkunft erzählen kann. Zudem spricht sie nicht die Landessprache Suaheli. Wir gehen davon aus, dass sie aus Burundi kommt. In den ersten Tagen bei uns packte Zawadi – ihr Name bedeutet übrigens „Geschenk“ – ihre Tasche und wollte gehen. Doch inzwischen hat sie sich bei uns eingelebt und ist immer guter Laune. Sie läuft durch das Nikolaushaus und schaut, was alle so machen. Abends spielt sie mit Begeisterung das Kartenspiel Uno mit ihren ganz eigenen Spiegelregeln! Man muss Zawadi einfach gern haben!
Zawadi came to live with us in December 2019. Social Services brought her to our house. We have no documents and no valid information about her identity. We think that she is in her mid-twenties. Zawadi is mentally challenged which is why she cannot tell us anything about herself. She also does not speak the nation’s language Swahili. We presume that she originally comes from our neighboring country Burundi. During her first days with us Zawadi was not happy. She packed a bag and was ready to leave. But by now she has accepted us as her new family. She is always happy. She roams our house and compound and checks out what everyone is doing. In the evening she loves to play cards and we have to follow her rules of the game! Her name means „gift“ and you just have to love her!
